Tucson Saguaros Cruise Past Pecos Bills 6-1

July 23 2024 The Tucson Saguaros defeated the Pecos Bills 6-1 at Cyclone Ballpark, combining 10 hits with a strong pitching performance to secure the victory. Tucson scored once in each of the first two innings, added three runs in the fourth and scored again in the eighth. Pecos’ lone run came in the seventh inning.

M. Wood led Tucson’s offense with three hits, three RBI and a home run. Z. Rice added two hits, two RBI and a home run, while C. Johnson contributed two hits and scored twice. Tucson finished with 10 hits and five walks, while Pecos managed three hits and five walks. J. Rodriguez recorded Pecos’ only extra-base hit with a double.

Blake Garrett earned the win after allowing one hit and no runs over five innings while striking out five and walking none. M. Shimonishi, M. White, J. Palafox and K. Dalton combined to finish the game, with Tucson’s pitchers allowing three hits and striking out 11 overall.

George Mills took the loss for Pecos after surrendering five runs on seven hits in five innings, with four walks and six strikeouts. Phillip Jones worked three innings and allowed one unearned run, while Aaron McIntyre pitched a scoreless ninth. Pecos committed two errors in the game.
