Garden City Wind Roll Past Pecos Bills 14-2

July 9 2024 The Garden City Wind defeated the Pecos Bills 14-2, scoring 13 unanswered runs after Pecos took a 2-0 lead in the top of the sixth. Garden City collected 13 hits and committed one error, while Pecos finished with five hits and no errors.

Jacob Talamante led the Wind offense by going 3-for-3 with four runs and three RBI. Pierce Khan added two hits and three RBI, while Zane Bandfield went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Colton Adams, Robert Morosetti and J. Wright also drove in runs for Garden City. Pecos received two RBI from M. Bonnain and two hits from Josh Kellogg.

Garden City scored three runs in the second inning, two in the third, six in the fourth and three in the sixth. Ted Broxterman earned the win after allowing five hits and two earned runs in 5.2 innings, with five walks and six strikeouts. L. Koch and Brandon Vegas combined for 1.1 scoreless innings, with Vegas recording two strikeouts. Estefano Zabulata took the loss for Pecos after surrendering 11 runs in 3.1 innings.
