June 26 2024 The Alpine Cowboys scored 15 runs across the middle innings to pull away for a 16-4 victory over the Pecos Bills at Cyclone Ballpark. Alpine finished with 17 hits and overcame an early 1-0 deficit by scoring once in the third inning before erupting for six runs in the fifth five in the sixth and four in the seventh.
Taylor Darden went 2-for-5 with three runs and four RBIs to lead the Cowboys’ attack. J. Medina added three hits three runs and two RBIs while A. Folds and Trevor Tripoli each collected two hits and scored three runs. Hunter Reid also contributed two hits and three RBIs, and Drake Angeron scored twice with two RBIs.
Reid earned the win after allowing two runs one earned on seven hits over six innings. He struck out 11 and walked two. Riley Bost and Jesse Garcia each worked a scoreless inning, while J. Horowitz finished the game with two runs allowed in two-thirds of an inning.
Pecos totaled eight hits, with David Jeffers and D. Albin recording two apiece. Jeffers scored once, and J. Boria drove in two runs. The Bills scored in the first and sixth innings before adding two runs in the ninth. Saul Arias took the loss after surrendering seven earned runs on nine hits in 4 1/3 innings.
