Austin Weirdos Pull Away From Pecos Bills 9-5

June 9 2024 The Austin Weirdos defeated the Pecos Bills 9-5 at Cyclone Ballpark, scoring in four different innings to secure the road victory. Austin opened with two runs in the first, added three in the third, one in the sixth and three in the seventh. Pecos scored twice in the fourth, once in the sixth and twice in the seventh but could not overcome the deficit.

Oscar Galvez led Austin’s 11-hit attack by going 3-for-5 with three runs and one RBI. Donnell Scott also collected three hits and drove in three runs, while Marcos Cabrera went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI. Ryan Drag added two hits, scored twice and drove in one run.

Dean Streich earned the win and was credited with the save after allowing five runs, four earned, on eight hits over six innings. He walked six and struck out four. Jacob Strobel completed the game with three scoreless innings, allowing one hit while striking out two. Tyler Hopper took the loss for Pecos after giving up six runs on eight hits in six innings.
