Pecos Bills Use Five Run Fourth to Beat Austin Weirdos

June 7 2024 The Pecos Bills defeated the Austin Weirdos 10-3 at Cyclone Ballpark, scoring in five of the first six innings and outhitting Austin 13-8. Pecos took a 4-1 lead after two innings and broke the game open with five runs in the fourth. The Bills added another run in the sixth while holding Austin to one run in the seventh after the visitors’ fourth-inning score.

Luke Smith led Pecos with two hits, including a home run, and three RBI. David Jeffers scored three runs while going 2-for-3 with an RBI and a walk. J. Rodriguez collected three hits, and D. Maduro added two hits, including a double, with an RBI. Austin’s Marcos Cabrera went 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run, while Ryan Drag also had two hits. Jacob Strobel hit Austin’s home run and scored a run.

Gilberto Rosario earned the win and was also credited with the save after allowing five hits and two earned runs in six innings. He walked two and struck out six. Austin starter Shane Brito took the loss after surrendering eight hits and four earned runs in three innings. Jacob Strobel worked five innings for Austin, allowing five hits and six earned runs while issuing six walks.
