Tucson Saguaros Roll Past Pecos Bills 16-3

June 6 2024 The Tucson Saguaros scored 11 runs across the sixth and seventh innings and defeated the Pecos Bills 16-3 at Kino Stadium. Tucson collected 22 hits while Pecos finished with seven.

Tucson took a 4-0 lead in the first inning, added two runs in the fifth and broke the game open with five runs in both the sixth and seventh. Pecos scored all three of its runs in the eighth inning, but Tucson’s lead held through the finish.

Kyle Trahan led Tucson with three hits and five RBI, while W. Kumagai went 4-for-6 with four runs and a home run. Gavy Perez-Torres added three hits, three runs, two RBI and a home run. S. Plash had three hits and two doubles, and K. Trahan also recorded two doubles.

Hector Sepulveda earned the win after allowing three hits and no runs in five innings with six strikeouts and one walk. Tucson’s pitching staff held Pecos to three runs, with the three runs allowed by M. Shimonishi in the eighth recorded as unearned. Estefano Zabulata took the loss for Pecos after allowing nine hits and six runs in five innings.
